DEADLY HOME INVASION IN ROCKY MOUNT STILL UNSOLVED AFTER OVER 20 YEARS

On February 20th 2000 unknown suspects broke into a home on 405 Fairfield Dr. in Rocky Mount. James O. "Cotton" Whelan who was 86 at the time was found bound with duct tape. His wife Margie Amato Whelan who was 73 at the time suffered a broken hip and was transferred to the hospital..


James Whelan died in the residence.


Margie Whelan passed away in March 2008.
